lord willas tyrell of highgarden. the heir of the reach. a rose of highgarden. growing strong.

lady-sansastark:

I read books occasionally, but I prefer poetry and songs of princes and heroes. At least, I used to. I don’t appreciate those tales as much as I used to. I’m sure I’d enjoy reading about real great men. Do you have any favorites that I should look into?

You and my sister have a lot in common, it seems. What sort of thing do you think you would enjoy?

All the autumn flowers are in bloom just now, and there are groves and fountains, shady courtyards, marble colonnades. My lord father always keeps singers at court, sweeter ones than Butters here, and pipers and fiddlers and harpers as well. We have the best horses, and pleasure boats to sail along the Mander.

lady-sansastark:

If you are as intelligent as they are heroic then you must be one of the smartest people in Westeros. What sort of books do you read?

I wouldn’t go as far as to say that, but I am flattered that you would think so. I read a great many books, a lot of them regarding the history of the realm and the older houses. My favorite books are those describing the deeds of great men from the past. They fascinate me to no end. However, I’m not particular. If something interests me, I will read it. What about yourself, my lady? Do you like to read?

lady-sansastark:

It is a pleasure to finally meet you. I do recall Margaery mentioning you a few times. From what I’ve heard you sound like an intelligent young man.

You are too kind, my lady. If I am intelligent, it is only because I have worked hard to become so. I enjoy reading as my brothers enjoy jousting.

lady-sansastark started following you.

Lady Sansa. I’m afraid I’ve never had the pleasure of making your acquaintance, but I understand you are familiar with my sister, Margaery. My name is Willas Tyrell. I know you have undoubtedly heard this many times recently, but I am truly sorry for your losses.

rose0fhighgarden:

Darling Willas, I am delighted that you have not forgotten about me since my departure. What rumors have you been hearing in Highgarden? Perhaps I can shed some light. King’s Landing is very big and full of many people but it will never have the beauty and charm of Highgarden. I trust you and Garlan will be visiting King’s Landing for my wedding?

I could never forget about you, my dear. You are greatly missed here, and we eagerly await the chance to see you again. Of course Garlan and I will be present. We would not miss it for the world. I think Garlan is more excited about it than he’s letting on.

As for the rumors, there are too many for me to recount in one sitting, and many of them are so improbable I have chosen to ignore them completely. However, I would like to clear the air with a few of them. It is said that Loras lost his head when he learned of King Renly’s death, and slew five knights in his anger. I’m not sure what to believe here. It is like Loras to be short tempered, but to kill five knights in a fit of anger?

willas—tyrell:

I was made aware of her betrothal not too long ago. I understand that it freed your daughter from her ties to King Joffrey.

Nevertheless, it is not quite that simple, my lord. But she’s keeping an eye on my Sansa, and I couldn’t thank her enough.

Ah, I see. Well then, my lady, I offer both you and your daughter my sincerest good wishes for the months ahead. If the Gods are kind, you will have no need of them.
